The band's name Zdob și Zdub is inspired by the hitting sounds of the drums. The rhythm and beats of these ‘southern shamans’ skillfully evoke a happy dancing vibe in all audiences.
In 2019, the band released their tenth album — Bestiarum.
It tells the stories of mystical wild creatures and inner beasts via an eclectic mix of balkan, regional indian and african folk traditions. Written in the Carpathians, the songs are spiritually anchored in the relationship between humans and nature, being a manifesto for wildlife conservation.
Zdob și Zdub represented Moldova at Eurovision three times: in 2005, 2011 and 2022. In 2022, Zdob și Zdub performed on the Eurovision stage together with the Advakhov brothers. The song ‘Trenulețul’ took them to the 7th place in total points and to the 2nd place in points received from the public.
In 2025, the band will celebrate 30 years of creative activity with concerts as part of a large world tour. At the same time, the band is hard at work on their new 11th album: several singles and music videos are already ready and awaiting their premieres.
