ALTERNOSFERA ^[MD]

Alternosfera is an alternative rock band from Chișinău, founded in 1998 by Marcel Bostan and Marin Nicoară. Blending influences from 1980s rock and 1990s grunge, the band has built a distinctive sound defined by introspective lyrics and socially engaged themes.

Over the years, Alternosfera has released notable albums such as Orașul 511, Virgula, Epizodia, Haosoleum and Arhitectul din Babel, each marking a new stage in their artistic evolution and strengthening their connection with audiences.

In 2022, in the context of regional changes, the band relocated to Sibiu, continuing their activity while deepening their relationship with the Romanian music scene. That same year, they launched Theatroll, a hybrid concept that merges music and theatre, incorporating orchestral arrangements and performative elements into their live shows.

In February 2025, Alternosfera released their seventh studio album, Steaguri fără culori, preceded by singles such as “Bonjour Madame”, “Imnuri de Război”, “Aritmii” and the collaboration with Delia, “Frig de Mor”. The album reflects the band’s engagement with contemporary themes and emotional complexity, reinforcing their position as one of the most influential alternative rock acts in the Romanian-speaking space.

With intense live performances and a strong emotional connection to their audience, Alternosfera continues to be a defining presence on festival stages and within contemporary music culture.
