10 years of Rocanotherworld: an edition to cherish First artists announced in the line-up and subscriptions available

Rocanotherworld returns in 2025 with its tenth edition, which will take place between June 19 and 22, in Iași. Launched in 2016, the festival has grown organically and gathered around it an active community, guided by the values ​​of be curious, be different, be for others. Over the years, it has brought local, national and international artists to the stage, built a program that combines live music with recreational activities, cultural and social initiatives and has consistently supported a sustainable direction.

This year, Rocanotherworld proposes a new celebration of time spent meaningfully and announces the first names confirmed in the line up: Villagers [IE], Vița de Vie, byron & Classix Quartet, Omul cu Șobolani, Dl Goe and Gala [UA]. The full list of artists will be gradually communicated on the festival website and on the official Social Media channels.

Tickets for this year's edition are already available on the official website www.rocanotherworld.com, where information about the edition's program and all the festival news will be constantly published. Rocanotherworld maintains its commitment to accessibility and inclusion, through a series of ticket categories designed to meet the needs of a diverse audience.

To support the participation of young people in cultural events, pupils and students benefit from a 50% discount on subscriptions, based on a supporting document presented at the entrance. In the same spirit, people with disabilities and their companions have free access, by completing an online form. Children under 12 years of age can participate for free, accompanied by an adult ticket holder.

Several types of subscriptions have been prepared, adapted to different categories of public. Group tickets come with advantageous prices for those who choose to participate together, and families benefit from flexible options. One-day tickets will be available in the following period. In addition, all purchases made with a card issued by Banca Transilvania between April 1-20 benefit from a 20% discount, automatically applied during the checkout process, regardless of the sales platform.

The first artists announced in the Rocanotherworld 2025 line-up

Dublin has a strong tradition of literature and storytelling, and Conor O’Brien, founder of the Villagers [IE] project, continues this tradition through his music. A singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, O’Brien has built a deep and diverse sonic universe that has brought him critical acclaim and major awards. Villagers won Ireland’s Choice Music Prize, was nominated for the Mercury Prize in the UK, and O’Brien has twice been awarded the prestigious Ivor Novello for songwriting. His sixth studio album, That Golden Time, released in May 2024, reaffirms his distinctive style, an elegant fusion of folk, pop and rock, which has earned him acclaim from artists such as Paul Weller, Elvis Costello, Damon Albarn and Guy Garvey. At the heart of it all remains the special relationship that Villagers build with their audience: one based on empathy, emotional depth and a shared sense of catharsis.

Founded in 1996 and with 10 albums under their belt, Vița de Vie is the most well-known and beloved alternative rock band in Romania. Characterized by a unique blend of professionalism, sincerity, emotion and energy, Vița de Vie is the most awarded Romanian band, having been rewarded throughout their career with numerous industry awards. Their incendiary shows, meticulously thought-out production and attention to detail make Vița de Vie the best Romanian product in the genre since 1990.

byron plays rock with diverse influences, they were founded in 2006 and have since released 8 studio albums, three filmed concerts and 2 vinyls. They are used to playing both electrically on large festival stages in front of thousands of spectators, as well as acoustically or with a string quartet or symphony orchestra. They filmed a concert in the Turda Salt Mine (100 meters deep) broadcast on HBO Romania. Then they composed the soundtrack for an original HBO series. In 2014 they filmed the "Electric Marching Band" concert at the National Theater in Cluj with a military brass band and a student choir, followed by the album "Eternal Return", recorded in High Resolution in Dublin at the famous Windmill Lane studios and mastered in London at Abbey Road Studios. In 2019 byron released the album "nouă" composed entirely in Romanian, an album about us, about Romania, dedicated to us. An album about the collective unconscious, about silences and our daily walk on a tightrope. The latest material -ephemerides- released at the end of 2023 through a national promotional tour is a collection of conversations we don't have, a direct look into the eyes of the man in the mirror.

OCS, the abbreviation for Omul cu Şobolani – inspired by the title of Freud’s book – is the name of the band formed by Dan Amariei (vocals), Nicolae Aramă (guitar), Mihnea Dobrotă (drums) and Radu Caragea (bass), which was born in Constanța (Romania), in 1997. Since then, they have conquered the Romanian alternative scene, released eight albums, filmed almost 40 music videos, performed hundreds of concerts and are in their third generation of fans. Currently, OCS is perhaps the best-rated alternative rock band in Romania. Their musical style consists mainly of grunge, alternative rock and pop rock influences, combined in their own style; An original alternative rock band, which can be said to have something unique in sound and composition.

D-l Goe (2017) brings to the audience music that harmoniously combines various styles, from pop and rock, to blues and gypsy-jazz, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. The band sings about stories of beautiful people, about their love and the dilemmas they face, about those feelings and moments that are familiar to us all. Their melodies resonate with listeners through sincere and profound lyrics, which reflect universal aspects of life. Dl. Goe revives diverse sounds, bringing a unique fusion of musical genres that gives life to an unmistakable show.

Gala [UA] is a DJ and producer from Kiev, with 14 years of experience in the industry and over 1000 events performed around the world. She creates a unique atmosphere at every occasion, and her charisma magnetizes the audience. She mentions: “My passion for electronic music drives me to constantly explore new sounds and styles, and my goal is to create an unforgettable experience for myself and the audience. Whether it’s a small club or a big festival, I always bring high energy and positive vibes to every set.

The 9th edition of Rocanotherworld took place between June 20 and 23, 2024 in Iași. United by the festival's three values, #becurious, #bedifferent and #beforothers, the over 18,000 participants enjoyed concerts, educational games, recreational activities, debates, artistic installations and many other experiences. Rocanotherworld 2024 enjoyed the iconic presence of artist Asaf Avidan on the main stage, alongside: Alternosfera, Deliric x Silent Strike & Muse Quartet, COMA, ARGATU, om la lună, Robin and The Backstabbers, La Chica (FR), Frate Gheorghe (MD), Jurjak, Sarmalele Reci, Dora Gaitanovici, Paul Tihan & Andra Andriucă, Denorm (MD), RoadkillSoda, Dimitri’s Bats, Fără Zahăr, K not K, Eduard Draude. The Dome Stage was brought to life with: Rosario Internullo, Gala (UA), Emann, Andrei C, Danny The Menace, and the Silent Disco stage with Donisan, Amivers, Alien and Dubescu.
